Final Inspection

After Len’s last run we decided to try to up my record.  We waited in line again, but the bike started giving us trouble.  By the time it was my turn to run again the bike would not run.  Len, Greg and Dave had to catch a plane, so they headed back to Salt Lake City.  Jim was kind enough to stick around and give us a hand.  We still had to tear down the bike for final inspection and pack up the pit.

For final inspection you have to open up the motor and let the inspector measure it.  They are checking to see that you really are running the size and type of motor you say you are.   Opening it up is no big deal on a BMW because the motor sticks out the side.  On some bikes the motor is hard to get to, buried underneath fairings, gas tanks, and electrical components.
