Eric and I had a lovely anniversary dinner on Friday at the Palace at the Cincinnatian hotel.

Eric proposed to me at Cricket bar at the Cincinnatian in 2004.  We used to go to the Cricket for a drink after seeing shows downtown.  This time Eric took me to the hotel restaurant, the Palace.  The food was amazing!  For an appetizer I had tuna carpaccio.  It was cut in a perfect circle, and was served with sake poached blackberries and cucumber gelee.  It was fabulous!  My entre was roasted barramundi.  I had never even heard of barramundi before.  Turns out it is a firm white fish, and it was wonderful!  It was served with sauce Soubise and black truffle vinaigrette.

One of the reasons Eric picked the Palace for our anniversary dinner was for the pastry chef, Summer.  She used to be the pastry chef at Pho Paris, and her desserts have always been amazing.  Pho Paris used to be our favorite restaurant.

For our anniversary dessert I had a pistachio cake with a Crème Brule center.  It was lightly fried on the outside to make it a little crispy and to prevent it from getting soggy with the tart and sweet cherries and sauce.  Wow!  Eric had a peach strudel.

The servers were charming too.  When they found out it was our anniversary they brought out my dessert with “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate sauce and a candle!

If you are into fancy food, or want to impress your sweetie with a classy dinner, the Palace is a lovely place to go.
