Camping Weekend

We had such a great weekend planned.  We were going to bike, hike, camp, and watch a metor shower.  Eric was reluctant to go because the weather said 94 degrees and a chance of rain.  I laughed at him.  “You’re scared of a 30% chance of an isolated thunderstorm?”  He said “Well, if you put it htat way, I guess not.”  We left Friday after work and took back roads to Clifty Falls.  It was a lovely ride out.  We took some of my favorite roads… 262 from Rising Sun to Dillsboro, and then 62 the rest of the way to Clifty Falls.  Parts of 62 were already damp, I guess the rain already happened.

We arrived at the campground and set up camp.  I made a Backpacker’s Pantry dinner, Southwestern Smoked Salmon Pasta.  Yummy!  We also had a Veggie Medley side dish.  Not bad for dehydrated camping food.  Portable, quick, and easy to make.

This looks like a nice spot! Let's camp here.

We weren’t the only motorcycles camping.  There was a couple camping further down, each of them had their own Harley’s.

It was dark by the time we finished dinner.

After dinner we took showers.  Clifty Falls campground has a very nice, clean shower house.

Eric built a fire and we settled in to watch the sky. Unfortunately I was too tired to stay up very late and I ended up going to bed before seeing any meteors.  “That’s ok.”  I told myself.  “We’ll see plenty of them tomorrow at Ceasar Creek.”
