Vacation!

Who-Hoo!  Since Eric couldn’t ride the Blue Ridge Parkway on his motorcycle, like we had planned for our vacation, we took last minute trip to Vegas instead.  I love www.lastminute.com

Eric cashed in some frequent flyer miles and upgraded us to first class.  Very nice.  As soon as we got on the plane the flight crew offered us a beverage and they made sure our cups stayed full the entire trip.  They brought us snacks.  They were friendly and smiling.  The seat ahead of me never bumped my knees, I had elbow room, no children kicked the back of my chair, and there were no screaming babies.  I love first class!

When we got off the plane we picked up our baggage and got in line for a cab.  In Vegas you don’t have to hail a cab, you just wait in line at the cab stop.  At the airport there was a constant stream of cabs, so even though there were at least one hundred people in line ahead of us, our wait was only about 10 or 15 minutes.  We were at the hotel by 11:00am, their time.

We stayed at the Mandaly Bay Casino Resort.  This resort is actually three hotels; Mandalay Bay, THEhotel, and Four Seasons.  There is a casino, a convention center, several swimming pools, several restaurants, shops, night clubs, bars, etc.  There is a little mall that connects to the Luxor.  Did I mention that there is also an aquarium?  We spent Thursday exploring the resort and surrounding areas.  There was a kiosk in the mall between Mandalay Bay and the Luxor selling helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon.  We couldn’t resist.  We signed up for one.
